Harken Day

March 25

Visit to Harken Italy: a day dedicated to learning about the company, its history, and its products, including a session with their winch maintenance specialists. Extremely interesting and helpful, with excellent hospitality from all their staff. Harken also offered a 15% discount on their products to members for a limited time, thus providing concrete and tangible value to the Association. This visit clearly highlighted the value of being able to delve deeper into technical topics through the Association's initiatives, thus informing many of the subsequent initiatives.

Cala de Medici

May 25

Our gathering at Cala de Medici, we are participating with nine of the association's boats in the Rosignano leg of the Vela Cup, organized by Giornale della Vela. This initiative deserves a positive evaluation and has certainly led to improvements compared to the previous year's "independent" organization in Porto Azzurro.

The result of this initiative will then be published in the Danish parent company's newsletter, marking the beginning of a fruitful and positive collaboration.

Welcomcome

back Vespucci

June 25

After a two-year absence, the Vespucci returns home to the Gulf of La Spezia.

Thanks to our associate Claudio Confalonieri, Captain of the Vespucci in 2007-2008, we managed to intercept it alone, obtaining photos of our X-Yachts alongside the most beautiful sailing ship in the world. These are truly “historic” photos for us, which also received great attention abroad, were published by the Danish parent company X-Yachts in the international newsletter.

World champ

Sept- 25

Formula X transfers from Genoa to Barcelona. Two board members were invited to participate in this spectacular transfer: the boat (XR41) that won the 2025 ORC World Championship, from Genoa to Barcelona. Steering and sailing this ultra-fast boat for over 350 miles, 52 hours non-stop gave us a priceless memory and thrill. It was a unique opportunity, a truly special invitation for our Italian Association.

Oct. 25

We started via Zoom with Luca Sabiu, ocean sailor and trainer, followed by a training day at Rocca di Monzone, in the charming Lunigiana region. Once again, the meeting included a rich technical component, thanks to the collaboration with Luca Sabiu. The topics covered included safety, proper vessel preparation, and the management of critical incidents and emergencies. All this took place in a wonderful location, thanks to the availability of our members Pietro Bernardini and Angela Poggi. The day included a culinary component, with tastings of local specialties and above all, a tasting of the quality wines produced by our members' vineyard.

International reward

Nov.25

The combination of these initiatives, the strong impact of a couple of them (the Formula X Genoa-Barcelona transfer and the even more historic meeting with the Vespucci), their coherence with the spirit and objectives of the association, the strong sense of belonging generated, the excellent and constant communication with the parent company, have meant that just two years after its establishment, the Italian association has been designated as the X-YACHTS Association for the year 2025. A great recognition, and unexpected, given the very recent establishment.

At the sailmaker

Dec 25

The meeting in Massa, again composed with a technical/gastronomic component. This time, it was a visit to the Venti Sails sailmaker, where we were shown all the stages of designing, building, and crafting high-quality sails. Laminated with carbon and aramid fibers, boast a cutting-edge design. Thanks to the helpfulness of the sailmaker's owner, Vittorio D'Albertas, and some of his employees, we were able to see the various stages of manufacturing the high-quality fiber sails. Once again, thanks to the cohesion and large number of participants, we were able to secure special sail purchase terms for our members.
